A Two Year Old’s Sparkle Wish Come True

As one month ends and another begins I smile when I go through Brooklyn’s photo session in February.

Brooklyn wanted a pink and gold sparkle session. She is two years old and has tons of energy. If it was up to her she would have stayed in the confetti “sparkle” all day long. She even wanted to help me clean up all the round pieces at the end of the session. It was adorable.

With her being so young, going with the larger confetti pieces was MUCH easier for mom to clean up off Brooklyn’s dress and for me to clean up too!  Since Brooklyn is so little, she couldn’t quite seem to grasp the idea of blowing the confetti off of her hands so we ended up doing a lot of “drop confetti over top of her” photos which were really cute.

Kids’ amazement with anything sparkly is very fun to watch. They are in complete awe. Her favourite colours are purple and pink so the colour combo we did for the background and her pink dress was so pretty.

Don’t you want to be as carefree and happy as Brooklyn was with her sparkles?

Do you make time for play in your life? As we enter adulthood and gain more responsibilities and have careers we can become serious and focussed. That’s not bad, but, it’s important, especially in hard times, to make space for rest and enjoyment. So, I challenge us all to think about how we can cultivate more fun in our lives. It will look different for each one. Maybe for you, it will be putting on music and dancing. And hey, if you want to throw some confetti around go for it! Do what sounds fun to you.
