Fun in the sun & water at Three Mile Bend.

It was the most gorgeous Fathers Day, when I got together with the Moser Family at Three Mile Bend. The sun was BLAZING out, and for half of the session, it felt like shade was hiding on us.

We started out in an open grassy spot with the pond (do we call it a pond?!), beaver dams and full leafy trees were our backdrop. I had to watch where I stood as the moose and deer had been in there, leaving some “presents” behind. For me, it’s important to get some big family shots first. This allows everyone to get to know me a bit more, feel more comfortable when we move into individual/family photos. It also gives me a chance to provide some posing “tips” that everyone can use throughout the rest of the session. And of course, most importantly, all kids at generally in a good mood at that point in time…so we want to get the most important shots done first! And with an extended family photoshoot, the most important shot is the entire group.

Grandma and Grandpa had their kids and grandkids come in for this special occasion, travelling from Calgary and Edmonton to Red Deer. After photos, they had plans for a bbq back at their house.

We found a little bridge where we got some grandkid photos, with their feet dangling over the water. Then it was off to some shade!

This location provides great variety for photos – open fields, pathways, tall grasses, and then eventually, you reach a “beach” of sorts, although quite rocky and sore for bare feet, the water area is stunning! It’s almost like being in the mountains, but we’re right in town!

I hope you enjoy some of the photos I captured from this session. In total, I sent the Moser’s 120 photos from this session – that’s the great part about a “full session”. We had as much time as we needed; time to change and go to different locations. It worked out great! Thanks for letting me be part of your 2019 Father’s Day, Moser family!
