There’s something sweet about being in love and a taking stroll together (or in this case a photoshoot) close to sunset in autumn when the sun shines a warm glow on the skin.
This in love couple, Jessa and Dane, won this photo session package from an event they attended called The Big Brother Big Sister “Big Pursuit” Event.
The Canadian Pacific Railway Bridge was built in 1908 for the purpose of rail transportation across the Red Deer River. According to The Red Deer official website, “It is Red Deer’s only example of a riveted steel, engineered truss, railway bridge, common throughout North America. The bridge established Red Deer as the main transportation and commercial centre in Central Alberta. From 1908 the bridge carried rail traffic continuously until 1990 when the CPR line relocated west of the city.”
The location where this photoshoot took place is currently a walking/biking pathway that crosses the Red Deer River. I love it for the leading lines it provides in photoshoots. Typically, I’ll photograph clients on top of the bridge, with the black metal supports of the bridge as our backdrop. Then, we’ll head underneath the bridge to the wood support beams and a little pathway that leads down to the river. It’s a gem of a place.
It’s no secret that I love dogs and people who love dogs. One of the most fun parts of this photoshoot was that Jessa and Dane brought their great dane dog Hugo. People that passed us on the bridge would all comment about how big Hugo is! He is definitely a gentle giant and added joy to the photoshoot.
The above photoshoot is my favourite of Jessa and Dane because they look incredibly relaxed interacting with their furbaby. There is something so special about how animals become a part of your family. Hugo was soaking up all the love in this moment.
As fall soon slips away, it’s nice to savour every last bit of it with someone you love. Go out for a walk, look up at the sky and allow the sun to warm your face and your heart.
